Fencing in Bartow County
Cartersville splits cleanly in two: old platting near the center, modern subdivision grid on the outside, and the fence job is different in each.
Cartersville built its 10,161 homes in two goes. The older part of the city was platted long before anybody was drawing cul-de-sacs, so the lots there are irregular, the boundaries don't always meet at right angles, and a fence has to be laid out, not simply measured. The newer subdivisions are the opposite: predictable rectangles, standard side yards, and a run length you can estimate over the phone.
Cartersville houses fall either side of 1990, which puts a lot of original fences at the point where they're neither fine nor finished. That's the moment people actually compare materials instead of defaulting, so it's worth the comparison: wood privacy for screening and cost, or vinyl and aluminum where the maintenance is the deciding factor. Each fails differently and neither is the right answer everywhere.
This is the steepest place in Bartow County, and a fence crossing falling ground has to either follow the grade or step down it. Following the grade keeps a continuous line and works with wood. Stepping keeps every panel level and leaves triangles at the bottom that either get filled or don't. Which one suits depends on how fast the ground drops, and it's a decision worth making before anything is ordered instead of on the day.
Layout, post setting, line tension and gate hardware are described end to end on the fence company page. Installed ranges by material sit in the fence quote guide and the style question in the privacy fence ideas guide. Decks, walls and porches in this town are on the Cartersville page, the county is Bartow, and the contact page is where a real number starts.
